So last night was a blast. Austin i must say you have it going on. Maxwell killed it as usual. Right now i've literally just checked in to my hotel here in San Antonio. Weather is shining all is good really. Got a day off tomorrow which shall be wonderful, and then my whole band fly in and we Get ready for the Essence Festival. Its gonna be crazy. The Dome holds up to 85,000 people so yeah.....its gonna be crazy!! talk soon

Finally got to see Maxwells show from begining to end. for once i had No press or interviews, or flights!!

All i can say is WOW!!
His voice, his energy and his amazing band is just crazy. to me he is the Marvin Gaye of our time. i'm truly blessed to be on this tour with him.
And on top of it all...he is so down to earth, humble and just a real grateful guy. And lets face it ladies...he ain't too bad on the eyes is he?!
over all.....this show is in my top 5 best shows ever.

I can't believe one of our few legends left has passed away.
It is just so sad.
I was able to dedicate "Mmmm" tonight in the pearl here in vegas to Mj.
May he rest in peace.
We will never forget him, such timeless music will live in our hearts forever.

What is up my friends!

So just got in to Seattle today. Its been a mad few wks as usual.

Here's an example of madness. It began when we had to make it from Chicago to New York for the Good Morning Show! I had literally finished my show with Maxwell at 7.30pm, got into a police escort and floored it straight to the airport, Caught what was a very delayed flight from Chicago to Boston. Thinking we had lost too much time and would not make it, a few strings were pulled and amazingly we hopped in a (very cool but very tiny) jet! madness i tell you...

Then we get out of the jet, its like 3.30 in the morning at this stage, only to be picked up by a crazy (but nice) driver. 20 minutes in the car a cab driver comes from the left and crashes into us. frustrated and desperately trying to make it on time, we get out of his car and into another cab. Finally we make it with 10 minutes to spare!! I don't think i'll ever forget that night :-)

so after the morning show went back to the airport to catch a flight to milwaukee to open for maxwell. it was a great show lovely energy in the crowd.

Next day i flew to chi town to open for Trey Songz In the House Of Blues. It was funny... i tell the audience i had the pleasure of meeting Trey today and that he was a really nice guy and some girl shouts up something to me. now when your on stage hearing what people are saying can be quite difficult. So

My album is finally out peoples! thank you so much to everybody who has picked it up. it feels like a lifetime of waiting to finally have this out on the shelves. i wanna thank my label Atlantic records who have been working like slaves. I also wanna thank all the radio stations who have been supporting me from the get go Right now i'm in Michigan. Last night i kicked off the first date with Maxwell. It was as amazing as i thought. And ladies...he does look as good as he sounds :) We're going all over with this tour. The Essence festival is gonna be crazy i'm gonna be on the main stage...exciting! i brought my mam out last wk. It was so funny everywhere we went people ended up calling here mama Izzy, she's becoming a little supastar! :-) love that women. Been on the phone all morning doing phoners, on a little break now and thought i'd say hey and catch up with you all. So much good stuff and blessings in my life right now i am so blessed. hey guys.
Just kicked off my American headline tour last night here in Dallas. It felt so good. The audience was just gorgeous and so much love!! thank you all for coming out even in the middle of a storm.
Sooo... right now i'm stuck in Dallas airport. Been here since 6am, its now 3.45pm! thunder and lightening all day. Sadly i cannot make Steve Harvey show due to all the flights being cancelled :( Good/bad news...just got confirmed i'm going on tour with maxwell and i'm opening for him at the essence festival. its gonna be crazy.
But with this blessings comes a bit of a downer. i've had to cancell my joe's pub gig as the maxwell dates clash! i'm so sorry guys. But i have other dates coming up in new york. Things have been fast as usual but playing these shows and getting to experince my music with all my fans gives me a new found energy.
I must say goodbye for now. bout to drive to Houston and hopefully catch a flight out of there. Gotta make it to A Town tomorrow!!
