I come from a family of music lovers. We are no songbirds, but we know good music when we hear it. More times than not, we can spot true talent. Well, Ms. Laura Izibor has a voice that makes you want to shut up and listen to this young woman belt out a tune. As I mentioned to my husband, it is a rarity for me to be drawn to the voice of female artist, for I just love to hear men sing. However, Ms. Izibor's voice can only be categorized with the likes of Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, and Mary J. Blige. I have not bought her album...just heard "From My Heart to Yours" played again and again on the radio and decided to visit her website. While visiting her website, I listened to the other cuts from her album. This is an album I will definitely buy and listen to every track. Please, Ms. Izibor, stay true to your beginnings and your roots. The test of good music for me is if the lyrics are meaningful and if I can play the song for my mother and stepchildren without cringing at explicit lyrics. While I am here, I would like to commend Ms. Izibor on her personal appearance. Maintain your dignity. Remain a lady with class. Never do anything in your career to garner success or reach a certain audience that will make you have regrets later on in life. I am a big sister, and I would give the same advice to my one and only younger sister.
